Stock Gifts

To make a gift of stock, please instruct your broker to transfer the securities to Vanguard:

Account Number: 20582532

Account Name:

Tax ID: 01-0554700

Once the stock is received in the PCCF Vanguard account, it will be liquidated. You will receive a letter from PCCF acknowledging your donation and the value of the donation as it arrived in the PCCF account.

Please contact PCCF to indicate that you are making a gift of securities.

IRA Distribution | Qualified Charitable Distribution

Donors aged 72½ years or older may transfer up to $100,000 from their Individual Retirement Account (IRA) or 401k to a qualified public charity such as PCCF. The transfer is free of federal income tax – and in some cases state income tax.

To make this contribution you must go through the custodian of the retirement account. Required minimum distribution (RMD) rules require you to start withdrawing a set amount each year, whether you need the income or not. Most retirement plan custodians have forms on their websites that permit the distribution to be made to the charity.

Donor Advised Fund

A donor advised fund (DAF) is a charitable giving program that allows you to reap maximum tax benefits while supporting your favorite causes. Your DAF allows you to distribute money to the Peace Corps Commemorative Foundation over time. Establish your DAF by making an irrevocable, tax-deductible donation to a public charity - such as a community foundation - that sponsors a DAF program; advise the investment allocation of the donated assets (for which any growth is tax free) and recommend grants to PCCF, with the option of being recognized or remaining anonymous.

Charitable Remainder Trust

A charitable remainder trust (CRT) is an irrevocable trust that generates a potential income stream for you or other beneficiaries, with the remainder of the donated assets going to Peace Corps Foundation and/or other charities. This option generates income and can enable you to pursue your philanthropic goals while also helping provide for your living expenses. Charitable trusts offer flexibility and control over your intended charitable beneficiaries as well as lifetime income, thereby helping with retirement, estate planning and tax management.

Charitable Gift Annuities

A charitable gift annuity is a contract between a donor and the Peace Corps Foundation with the following terms: As a donor, you make a sizable gift to the Peace Corps Foundation using cash, securities or other assets. In return, you become eligible to take a partial tax deduction for your donation, plus you receive a fixed stream of income from the Peace Corps Foundation for the rest of your life.

Bequests

By including PCCF in your will, you can ensure that your generosity will continue in perpetuity. There are several ways to contribute through your will:

Percentage or Specific Dollar Amount: “I give, devise, and bequeath to the Peace Corps Commemorative Foundation of Washington, D.C. _____ % [or $_____] of my estate to be used for its charitable purposes.”

Residue (what assets remain after other bequests have been granted): “All the residue of my estate, including real and personal property, I give, devise, and bequeath to the Peace Corps Commemorative Foundation of Washington, D.C. to be used for its charitable purposes.”

Note: The suggested wording should be reviewed by your attorney in preparing any legal document.

We recognize that writing a will and designating beneficiaries are very personal matters. If you choose to make a bequest to PCCF, we encourage you to let us know so that we may have the opportunity to express our appreciation. For more information please contact us.

PCCF is a 501(c)(3) charitable organization, EIN# 01-0554700

PCCF will specifically state in writing whether or not any goods or services have been provided in return for a donation. Your donation to PCCF is tax deductible to the extent allowed by law. We recommend consulting your tax advisor regarding tax deductibility.
