Peace Corps Commemorative Authorization Act

In January 2014, a bipartisan act of the United States Congress authorized the Peace Corps Commemorative Foundation to establish a national commemorative work on Federal land in Washington, D.C. The Commemorative is to recognize the historic significance of the establishment of the Peace Corps in 1961 and to honor the timeless, enduring American ideals on which the Peace Corps was founded. The Peace Corps Commemorative Foundation is the public name of the Peace Corps Foundation, a District of Columbia 501(c)(3) charitable organization.
